My Daughter’s Top 11 books of 2011

15 Jan

My 13 year old daughter picked her top books she read for the first time last year (she’s a voracious reader, and had plenty to choose from!).  Links point to Goodreads, except for Audition, which she reviewed here.

Was ‘Matched’ her no. 1 pick? I’ve seen it everywhere in online bookshops. I’ve wondered if it’s good.

She refused to pick a favorite, because then she’d feel bad for the other books. If I was to venture a guess, I’d suggest her top read was either Audition or the pair of Maze Runner books– they certainly provoked the most reaction from her.

I also enjoyed Matched, although it wasn’t a contender for my top 10 list. I think it’s a really good choice for teens that are just venturing out of contemporary fiction. It has a more girly feel than most dystopians, while not diluting the eventual impact of the world.
