Book Club nominations

07 Jun

It’s time to pick new books for Book Club L (Book Club M won’t be far behind).  We use a rather unusual voting method to pick approximately 6 books at a time.  Here’s our current ballot.  What would you vote for?  What has your book club discussed, and how did the discussion go?

My book club read and loved THE HELP and THE ART OF RACING IN THE RAIN. Both books were unanimously loved by all members of the club.

The only other book from the list that I’ve read is GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. And people I’ve had read it all loved it as much as I did.

I’ve read and reviewed both The Help and The Unit and adored both. I also think both could make for good book club discussion.

I listened to The Help on audio ad really enjoyed it. I read positive reviews about most of the books on your list.

The help is great. There is a lot to talk about with that book. The Art of Racing in the Rain was also good. I think that 13 Reasons Why was fantastic. It was my first YA book and I literally could NOT put it down. There is so much there to talk about, especially for parents. That would be my choice.

You have some great ideas. Good Luck picking one. I have to look into some of those.

I really didn’t like 13 reasons why but if it is a group of parents with teenagers I would recommend it.

I haven’t read The Help but after reading reviews, it seems to be a good choice for a book club.

Read Art of Racing in the Rain (loved it) and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (didn’t love it). Several of the others are on my list. I hear wonderful things about The Help.

13 Reasons Why seems like it would generate a lot of discussion.

I’d vote for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

The only book on the list that my book club has read as a group is The Help. It was a big success. 13 Reasons Why and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo would both be great choices too.

My book club read The Help and it was a big hit and I think Thirteen Reasons Why would give a lot to discuss.
